Dirty Cow

A race condition was found in the way the Linux kernel's memory subsystem handled the copy-on-write (COW) breakage of private read-only memory mappings.

This exploit is useful in cases where a regular user without write permission to files can write to it using this exploit.

The vulnerability affects Linux kernel since 2.6.22 (released in 2007). It has been patches in kernel versions 4.8.3, 4.7.9, 4.4.26 and newer.
